 The famous festival of siblings, i.e., Rakhi, is just around the corner, and many people have already started their preparations. DIY RAKHIS MADE AT HOME

  1. Paper Rakhi: 


Materials needed: Quilling needle, quilling paper, scissors, glue, cardboards, studs, and gems for decoration. 


Steps:


  • Take some quilling paper strips that are approximately three wide and use a quilling needle to roll them. 

  • Once you have rolled it till the end, apply some glue to fix it in place. 

  • To give it the shape of a flower, pinch a circle from its end portion.

  • Now, repeat the same process to make at least 8-9 petals out of it. 

  • Please take a little piece of cardboard and start sticking the petals on it in a circular motion with the help of glue. 

  • Your Rakhi is almost finished; you have to decorate it with the gems or the studs to make it look even more attractive. 





2. Rakhi made from earbuds: 


Material needed: Paint, cotton buds, scissors, glue, cardboard piece, and a ball chain to decorate. 


Steps: 


  • Take many pieces of cotton buds and choose your favorite color to paint it from both sides. 

  • The size of your Rakhi will decide how many cotton buds you require.

  • Now cut the middle portion of the earbuds such that only the painted cotton buds are left from both sides. 

  • The next step is to take a cardboard piece and cut it into a small circle. Apply glue on its surface and spread it all over it. 

  • Stick the painted cotton buds on the cardboard in such a way that they form the shape of a flower. 

  • Repeat the procedure to make layers of at least 2-3 flowers using different colored cotton buds for all of them.

  • Add a golden-colored ball chain at its boundaries to make it look even prettier. 

  • The last step is to take a mauli or a red-colored thread and stick it at the bottom of your DIY Rakhi.
